ROME - Massimo Moratti spoke about Inter's summer transfer
strategy on the sidelines of a meeting of Inter Club Parlamento
members in Rome.
"The names of the players linked to Inter in the newspapers are
all of such a high level that it is obvious that they could
interest us, but we have no need to spend uselessly," said the
Inter number one. "We will just make a few targeted signings."
Moratti named no names, explaining that "our targets are an attacking
midfielder and one or two attacking wingers.
Mourinho is not a demanding coach. He's not crazy. He's not
interested in making useless interventions, but just a few targeted
changes. I think he is very close to the team and he will certainly
participate in the final decision about which new players will be
part of the Inter project."
As for the Nerazzurri's objectives in 2008/09, Moratti said: "We
will try to confirm ourselves in Italy and we will obviously be
looking to do well in the European Cup. The final will be played in
Rome, so it would be nice to play against the Giallorossi."
